Li-Anri, Waldo & Liane

Happy 1st Birthday to a very sweet Liane. We hope you had a lovely day with lots of pressies.

I definitely ended my last shoot in South Africa on a high. Li-Anri, Waldo & Liane was a blast to work with. Liane was just starting to walk at this point and poor Li-Anri & Waldo not only had their hands full to fend off the curious ostriches away, but also keeping Liane from wondering off. The grass was so tall, how would you ever find her again?

I spent a bit longer than normal to get some night time shots with the full moon rising over the African bush. Unfortunately I still had to pack my bags for my flight back to Scotland, so eventually we had to call it a day. So sad to say goodbye to the Bushveld for another year. Here are a few highlights of their shoot. View full gallery here…

Elme, Ursinius & Josh

For those who think I went for a 6 week holiday in SA, you are partly right…. it was lovely to spend some time at home with my parents, but I also took the opportunity to photograph a few of my dearest friends agains some of the most beautiful backdrops  South Africa’s bushveld have to offer. Keep an eye out over the next month for some of these shoots as I work my way through them.

Starting off, the beautiful Elme, Ursinius & Josh. Ursinius and Elme is getting married in October and we decided to do a engagement / family shoot in one. Whilst I took a few shots of Elme & Urs, Josh sucked up every bit of information he could about how to take photos. By the end of the session, he even took his own photo of his mom… I had a great time with the 3 of them. Once again, thank you to Oom Hilton & Tannie Shirley Botha for letting us use their farm as a backdrop. Here are a few highlights of their shoot. View full gallery here…

Karina & Jaco -17 Dec 2011

I forgot how hot the Bushveld summer sun can be… Luckely Karina and Jaco did not, and had loads of ice cold bottled water for their guests. I thought this was genius!! Despite the heat, Karina look fabulous in the “veld” with her elegant dress and headpiece.  Jaco certainly couldn’t take his eyes off her. Here are a few highlights of their day…

Hannah Barnes Lifestyle Shoot

Had an awesome lifestyle shoot with Hannah Barnes a weeks ago. You would never guess that this soft spoken, down to earth girl is such a great endurance athlete and hard core mountain biker. She took some time out and spent a sunny morning with me getting some shots in a few of her sponsors clothing. View the full gallery here

Sue and Charles

We ended the wedding season on a high with our friends, Sue & Charles’s wedding at Bunchrew House Hotel in Inverness. With both working in the outdoor industry, it was a bit surreal to see them dressed up. Sue swapped her ski boots for a pair of high heels & looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress, not to mention Charles who managed to ditch his fleece and looked ever so handsome in his kilt with traditional family tweed. There’s not a lot of weddings where the groom joins the band, but being a musician himself, Charles had a jamming session with the band and provided excellent entertainment right till the end of the night. Simone & Olaf – 1 Oct 2011

All the way from Germany, Simone & Olaf first fell in love with Scotland when they hiked the West Highland Way. During their trip they also met their dear friend from Elgin at the Bridge of Orchy Hotel, which was the natural choice when it came to choosing a venu. We spent a lovely afternoon with them, and truly embraced the German way of celebrating a wedding. Thanks to all the staff at the Bridge of Orchy Hotel for all your help during the day. Here are a few highlight of Simone & Olaf’s wedding. View full gallery here.
